September topic was dear to me because speakers discussed FOREIGN Investors and Foreign Money coming into the U.S. and our Market. I have been working with Foreign Investors since I first received my real estate license in 1979. My first foreign buyer was from my home country, Czechoslovakia. I started my own company, Real Estate International, Inc. in 1985 and hired bi-lingual agents and our motto was “SOLD in ANY Language”. I have worked with foreign buyers and had to learn about the etiquette, currency, customs etc. in order to do business with them.
In most cases, you build relationships first, business comes later. I have traveled to 40 different countries and worked with Chambers of Commerce, Georgia Power, Consulates and Foreign Networking groups to get more buyers. I enjoyed the program because it gave me insight from the speakers about where they thought buyers are now coming from. I will refocus back to my Canadian, German, Dutch and Japanese clients because I know they see United States as a great place for new opportunities in investing here. We still have a stable economy compared to some other countries and WE ARE ON SALE right now. Shelter, Income Producing Properties will always be more attractive to many investors over stock market.
I applaud the Events Committee for bringing this subject to us. I brought a guest – Kelly Amanda Lee who is running for the Fulton County Superior Court Judge and she also truly enjoyed the program. THANK YOU!
