Join us as The Atlanta Regional Commissions’ dynamic new Chairman Mr. Tad Leithead, gives us an overview of the key issues facing our region. Mr. Leithead will share his knowledge and insights on specific issues such land use, transportation and legislation that will impact sustainable growth in Atlanta. ARC serves 10 counties and 68 cities and is dedicated to unifying the region’s collective resources to prepare the metropolitan Atlanta area for a prosperous future.

On Thursday, September 3rd, CREW Atlanta will explore the New Economy and how the $787 billion economic stimulus package affects Atlanta in their monthly educational luncheon program, “The New Economy: Where’s the Money Going?”. President Barack Obama’s stimulus package is spending $185 billion in 2009 and proposes to increase GDP growth by 1.4%-3.8% and jobs by 1-2 million. This program will focus on the groups that are receiving stimulus money and how it impacts our region and the real estate community.
Expert panelists will include Dennis Creech, the executive director of Southface Energy Institute; Michael Hammill, senior economic analyst of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and Debbie Dlugolenski, deputy director of the Governor’s Office of Planning & Budget, State of Georgia. Tahmida Shamsuddin, vice president of economic development with Central Atlanta Progress will moderate this discussion being held at Cobb Galleria.
