CREW Network National Convention
Dear CREW Atlanta Member:
Have you thought about going to the CREW Network Convention? It is a great place to do business, learn about the real estate industry, and meet new people. The CREW Network Committee will be providing periodic messages about the convention in the coming weeks, beginning with the important information below. If you would like more information about CREW Convention, please feel free to contact Heather Ridgway at heather.ridgway@atcassociates.com or 770.427.9456
CREW Atlanta Can Help you Attend the CREW Network Convention & Marketplace
The CREW Atlanta Network Committee is here to help you find ways to be able to attend the CREW Network Convention & Marketplace.
Get Approval
We know that it can be difficult to convince your boss that money spent on attending the CREW Network Convention is worth it. For Ways To Convince Your Boss, go to www.crewnetwork.org
and click on the Convention link. Then choose the Convince Your Boss tab for some great tips.
Register Early
Register for the Convention by August 28, 2009 and receive a discounted rate. First-time attendees receive a deeper discount.
Book Your Flight
At least two Atlanta-based Airlines are having airfare sales through July 28, 2009, which include flights to Boston.
Reserve Your Room Early and Share
The Hotel will honor reduced rates if your room is reserved before September 8, 2008. Plus, many of this year’s Atlanta attendees are interested in saving some money by room-sharing.
Don’t forget to use your AAA discount if you have a membership and/or check out other nearby hotels.
Share a Taxi, Reserve a Shuttle or Take the T
Taxi service from the airport to the Convention Center/Hotel will be approximately $30. Find a friend and share. Shuttle service, according to CREW Network, is approximately $15.
The Boston subway service, known at the T goes from the airport to the convention center, but be wary as it will require a shuttle bus, two train switches, and at least 30 minutes.
However, the cost will be less than $10. Go to www.mbta.com and choose the Trip Planner or Riding the T for more information.
For a list of who’s going and who’s willing to share a hotel room or taxi contact Heather Ridgway at heather.ridgway@atcassociates.com.

The National Convention is a great way to get to know not only CREW members from all over the U.S., but also to get to know Atlanta members better. It’s a bonding experience to travel together, and new business leads often flow from those kind of bonds. Also, it’s a great opportunity to connect with your existing clients that are located in Boston or attending the convention. — Stephanie Friese, Friese Legal, LLC

Meeting Crew members from all over the country gives CREW Atlanta members access to potential clients and referral sources. Are you working on a multi-state transaction? Find sources in the other states at CREW Convention. Have you targeted national companies who are coming to Atlanta? Check the convention registration for members of those companies and set up appointments at Convention. Have you worked on deals with companies outside of Atlanta? Find those folks at Convention. A targeted approach to maximizing your convention participation will make the Convention experience worthwhile and WILL lead to business development. Not only that, you will be lunching and meeting and having fun with extraordinary women from all over the country.
Some of the highlights from my experience in Houston last year:
I connected with a camp friend I hadn’t seen for over 30 years in Houston!
I met two attorneys I had worked with in Colorado and California that I had only “met” over the phone.
I scored a gorgeous briefcase from the silent auction.
I reconnected with old friends that had moved from Atlanta.
I had appointments with folks I had been trying to reach to work on some potential real estate projects.
I had a wonderful time “playing” with my CREW Atlanta friends and got to know many of them so much better.
All in all, attending CREW Convention was a fabulous business and social experience. Best of all, it was fun

I attended CREW Convention in Houston last year. There, I was able to have one-on-one conversations with the Chapter President, President Elect, and the Executive Director, among others. My convention attendance inspired me to become even more active in CREW, which has led to real business for me; approximately $140,700 worth since last October.

This site seems to get a great deal of visitors. How do you promote it? It offers a nice individual spin on things. I guess having something authentic or substantial to post about is the most important thing.
